LAPD Northeast Community Police Station and Bail Help

LAPD's Northeast Community Police Station is at 3353 San Fernando Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90065, and its front desk is not usually where bail is posted. We are a private licensed bail agent, not part of LAPD or LASD, and this page explains what the station does and what to do next.

Northeast Station, address and communities

Northeast Station is at 3353 San Fernando Rd., near Glassell Park and Atwater Village. Its large area runs along the Los Angeles River and up into the hills, from Silver Lake, Echo Park and Los Feliz to Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Mount Washington and Cypress Park. Main roads include San Fernando Road, Figueroa Street, Sunset Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. The 2, 5, 110 and 134 freeways serve it.

The station address is 3353 San Fernando Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90065. The front desk phone is (323) 561-3211. The official LAPD list of communities served is Atwater Village, Cypress Park, Eagle Rock, East Hollywood, Echo Park, Elysian Park, Elysian Valley, Franklin Hills, Garvanza, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Los Feliz, Mount Washington, Silver Lake, Solano Canyon.

Because the area is spread out, a family member may be coming from Eagle Rock while the person was arrested in Silver Lake. That is fine. You can call us from anywhere and we will explain next steps by phone.

Is bail posted at this station?

Do not go to the station expecting to pay bail at the counter. For arrests in this area, people are usually taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center, which is at 180 N. Los Angeles St. in downtown Los Angeles, and that is where a bond is usually posted. Nothing is guaranteed. LAPD can move people between jails, so a quick call saves a wasted trip. We can help you find out where the person is.

These local pages cover places in or beside this station's area. Each one has its own notes for families.

Getting property back

Things taken at arrest are usually logged and held with the person's jail record, then returned at release with ID. If a friend needs to collect something, the jail can tell you what it needs. Items kept as evidence stay with the police and are returned only when the case allows. Ask the front desk. A towed car is a separate process, and the station can tell you which tow yard has it.

How to file a complaint

Start with what you know. Write the date, time, place and who was involved. Then choose a channel. You can ask for a complaint at the station, use LAPD's Professional Standards Bureau, or contact the Office of the Inspector General for the Police Commission at (213) 893-6400 or oig.lacity.org. We cannot give legal advice, but we will listen and point you to our resources directory.

Starting with 1% down

Start with 1% of the bail amount down on approved credit, and pay the rest of the premium monthly. That is our Bail Today, Pay Later plan, which Jane Un started in 2004. The premium is 10% of the bail, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or the defendant or co-signer is a veteran. 1% is only the down payment. See the 1% down page or the online application.

Before you call, take a minute to write down what you know. Get the full name, birth date, where the arrest happened and any phone number you were given. A booking number is the most useful thing, but it is not required. We will start with whatever you have.

You can reach us 24 hours a day at (213) 725-2815. We are a private licensed bail agent, California Department of Insurance License #1843448. We are not part of LAPD or LASD. Our guide on what to do after an arrest is a good next read.

1% down is a down payment on approved credit, not the price of the bond. The premium is the rate on file with the California Department of Insurance, 10% of the bail amount, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or you or the defendant is a veteran. The balance goes on a payment plan.

Questions people ask

What is the Northeast Station phone number?

The front desk phone is (323) 561-3211.

Can I post bail at the Northeast station?

Usually not. People are usually booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center, though LAPD can move people, so call to confirm. We are a private licensed bail agent, not part of LAPD.

My loved one was arrested in Highland Park. Is that Northeast Division?

Highland Park is on LAPD's Northeast list, along with Eagle Rock and Silver Lake. Some neighborhoods are split between two stations, so call the station to confirm.

Do you promise a release time?

No. Release timing depends on the jail. We prepare the bond quickly once you call, but we cannot promise when the jail will finish.

Does 1% down mean bail costs 1%?

No. 1% down is a down payment on approved credit. The premium is 10% of bail, or 8% in certain cases, and the balance is paid monthly.
