Highland Park Bail Bonds
If your phone rang with news of an arrest in Highland Park, you can call us right back at (213) 725-2815. Jane Un Bail Bonds is a licensed California bail agent, open 24 hours, and we help families in the Northeast L.A. hills every week.
Highland Park runs along York Boulevard and Figueroa Street, with the Arroyo Seco Parkway and the Metro A Line station tying it to downtown. Families here often speak Spanish at home, and many have lived on the same blocks for decades.
Below is what to expect, step by step.

The Northeast station and its desk
Highland Park is served by LAPD's Northeast Area. The station is at 3353 San Fernando Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90065, near the Glassell Park border, and the front desk number is 323-561-3211. The Northeast Area also covers Eagle Rock, Cypress Park, Atwater Village and Los Feliz.
See our Northeast station page for details. If the desk is busy, the county locator at app5.lasd.org/iic usually has the booking before the desk can say anything.
From the hills to downtown
Most Northeast Area arrests usually go to the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown, but LAPD can move people if medical clearance is needed. The Arroyo Seco Parkway, the 110, runs from Highland Park to the four level interchange and the Civic Center, and at night it is a quick drive. In the morning commute it is slow.
The Metro A Line from the Highland Park station goes to Union Station in about 20 minutes, and from there downtown is a walk or short ride. Our MDC page has the address and visiting hours.
Jail visits come with strict rules. LAPD allows one friend or family visit per day, and attorneys, clergy and bail agents may visit at any time. Bring a valid photo ID, and expect to leave phones, bags and extra items outside.
Do not bring cash for the person. If you want to put money on their account for the commissary, ask staff how it works for that facility. Gifts and passed items are not allowed, and trying can lead to trouble for you.
Dress simply. Many visitors are turned away for clothes that break the rules, so ask in advance if you can.
Spanish speaking help
If your family is more comfortable in Spanish, ask for a Spanish speaking agent when you call. We cannot promise a specific staff language at every hour, but we will do what we can to connect you with someone who can help in the language you prefer.
Do not let language stop you from calling. You can also have a trusted relative or friend on the line to translate. We explain each number slowly, including what is owed now and what comes later.
What the court usually looks like
Cases that start with a downtown booking are often heard at the Central Arraignment Courthouse on Bauchet Street for first appearances, then at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Temple Street. Your paperwork will say the court and department.
Bring a notebook to your first hearing. Write down what the judge says, the next date, and the name of the department. Our guide on how bail works in Los Angeles explains how bail connects to every court date.
Paying for a bond, with a small down payment
Premium is the filed rate of 10% of bail, or 8% with a private attorney or when the defendant or co-signer is a veteran. We offer 1% down on approved credit, with the balance paid monthly under Bail Today, Pay Later.
If bail is $30,000, that is $300 down against a $3,000 premium at 10%. If it is $8,000, that is $80 down against $800. Approval is needed, and 1% is never the price. The calculator will do your math, and the online application takes about 4 minutes.
Nights out on York and Figueroa
The bars, galleries and music venues along York and Figueroa mean busy weekend nights, and some of those nights end with a DUI stop or a fight outside a venue. A first arrest is scary, but it is also common, and a first time defendant is not treated like a stranger by the system.
If you are the friend who was with the person that night, you can call us too. A friend, relative or attorney can reach out for the arrested person, and we will tell you what we need from the co-signer.
If the person is a student or has a record of steady work, mention it. It helps us tell the story of the application.
Free resources while you wait
Not every family is ready to hire an attorney. Our resources directory lists public defenders, court self help centers and legal aid groups. A private attorney can also lower your premium to 8%, so some families find that it pays to ask what a lawyer costs.
Nothing here is legal advice, and we never recommend a particular lawyer. We simply want you to know that help exists.
1% down is a down payment on approved credit, not the price of the bond. The premium is the rate on file with the California Department of Insurance, 10% of the bail amount, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or you or the defendant is a veteran. The balance goes on a payment plan.
Questions people ask
Which LAPD station covers Highland Park?
Northeast Area, on San Fernando Road.
Is the Metro A Line a good way to reach the jail?
It can be. It runs to Union Station, and downtown is a short walk or ride from there. Check the schedule, since late night service can change.
What if I do not have a credit card?
Tell us what you do have. Approval depends on the co-signer and the plan, not on one single tool.
Do you serve Eagle Rock and Mount Washington too?
Yes. We help families across Northeast Los Angeles and the rest of the county.
Can the bond be posted if I cannot visit?
Yes. Most of the steps happen by phone and online, and you do not need to be at the jail.
