Neighborhood pages for this area
These local pages cover places in or beside this station's area. Each one has its own notes for families.
Is bail posted at this station?
Here is the short version. The station is the local office. The jail is where booking and bail usually take place. For an arrest in this area, that is usually the 77th Street Regional Jail at 7600 S. Broadway in South Los Angeles. LAPD can move people, and it does not publish which area goes where, so please call to confirm. NBC Los Angeles reported in October 2026 that the 77th Street jail has no medical staff until January 4, 2027, so people who need medical clearance may be taken to the downtown or Van Nuys jail instead.
Complaints about police conduct
You do not need a bond to file a complaint. Ask the station front desk or the watch commander. You can also use LAPD's Professional Standards Bureau through lapdonline.org, or call the Office of the Inspector General at (213) 893-6400. It is part of the Police Commission's oversight and has its own site at oig.lacity.org. Write everything down while it is fresh. We are not lawyers and do not advise on the case.
What about their belongings?
Belongings are usually held at the jail until release. Property held for evidence is a different matter and may stay with LAPD longer. For either one, call the station front desk and ask what to bring. Plan to show photo ID. If a car or bike was impounded, ask which lot has it, because storage charges often grow each day.
How 1% down works
Bail Today, Pay Later lets you start with 1% of the bail amount down on approved credit. The rest of the premium goes on a monthly plan. The premium is 10% of the bail, which is the filed rate, or 8% if a private attorney is retained or the defendant or co-signer is a veteran. 1% down is the first payment, not the price. Try the calculator or start the online application, about 4 minutes with no SSN online. Read more on 1% down.
Have a pen ready. We will ask for the person's name, birth date and booking number, and we will ask who will be the co-signer. Our cosigner guide explains that role in plain words, so it is worth a quick read before you sign.
You can reach us 24 hours a day at (213) 725-2815. We are a private licensed bail agent, California Department of Insurance License #1843448. We are not part of LAPD or LASD. Our guide on what to do after an arrest is a good next read.
