That mix up is the first thing families get wrong, and it costs people hours at the wrong counter. It changes which station, which jail and which phone number matters. City of Los Angeles, not Beverly Hills

The Beverly Hills Police Department covers the city of Beverly Hills. Beverly Crest is outside that city limit, so arrests here are usually made by the LAPD West Los Angeles Area. A county Sheriff deputy or a state officer may also be involved on a few roads.

The West Los Angeles station is on Butler Avenue, and the front desk number is 310-444-0701. Read more on our West Los Angeles station page. If you are not sure who made the arrest, call 213-473-6100 and ask.

Where the person is usually booked

LAPD does not publish a fixed list of which station sends people where. In practice, West Los Angeles arrests are usually booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown. Sometimes a person is held at the station for a while first. Call to confirm.

The MDC page lists the address and visiting rules. From Beverly Crest, the route is down Benedict or Coldwater to Sunset or Ventura, then the 405 or 101 and the 10 east. Rideshare is easier than parking on Los Angeles Street.

Canyon roads and what they mean for an arrest

Mulholland Drive, Coldwater Canyon and Benedict Canyon see traffic stops, noise calls and the occasional dispute at a house party. DUI arrests after dinner in the hills are common. A person arrested for a DUI is booked, then may be eligible for release by bail at the jail schedule amount.

If the charge is something more serious, bail may be set by a judge at arraignment. We can explain the difference in a short call.

Neighbors in the canyons often call police about parties, noise, parked cars on blind curves and strangers on private roads. Some of those calls end with an arrest of a young adult who was home from college, a guest who stayed too long, or a worker who had a bad night. Families are often shocked, and they are often embarrassed. You do not need to be. We handle calls like this every week, and nobody on the line will judge you.

Paying with 1% down

Our fee, called the premium, is 10% of bail at the filed rate, or 8% for veterans or when a private attorney is hired. With Bail Today, Pay Later, you start with 1% down on approved credit and pay the balance monthly.

On a $75,000 bail, the premium is $7,500 and the 1% down payment is $750. Larger bail needs stronger approval, and we will say so honestly. Co-signers in this area often own a home or have a long job history, which can help the approval, though nothing is promised until the review is done. A veteran in the family may qualify for the lower 8% premium, so say so when you call. The calculator shows the numbers for your case.

Court

Downtown bookings are arraigned at the Central Arraignment Courthouse on Bauchet Street. Felony cases may then go to the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Some West LA cases are heard in other courthouses depending on the charge, so check the paperwork.

If you are the co-signer, learn the date and put it in your calendar. Courthouses can be a long way from the canyons, so plan the drive the night before. Traffic on the 405 and the 10 can add a lot of time, and a late arrival can be treated as a missed one. A short guide on cosigning explains what you are agreeing to.

If you are not sure what to do first

Take a breath. Write down the full name, the birth date and where the arrest happened. Call us, and we will go through the next steps one at a time. You can also read what to do after an arrest while you wait for a call back.

1% down is a down payment on approved credit, not the price of the bond. The premium is the rate on file with the California Department of Insurance, 10% of the bail amount, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or you or the defendant is a veteran. The balance goes on a payment plan.
