Playa del Rey Bail Bonds, Beach Side and Far From the Jail

Playa del Rey is on the far west edge of the city, beside the beach, the Ballona Wetlands and the airport. The jail where arrests are often booked is roughly twenty miles away.

That distance is a good reason to call before you drive. Reach Jane Un Bail Bonds at (213) 725-2815, any hour. We will help you confirm where your person is, explain the court and show how 1% down on approved credit can fit the bail. Much of the process can be done by phone and online.

LAPD Pacific Division and the Culver Boulevard station

Playa del Rey is in LAPD Pacific Division. The station is at 12312 Culver Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90066, phone 310-482-6334. It sits on Culver Boulevard, a few miles inland from the beach. Our Pacific station page has the details.

Pacific Division also covers Venice, Mar Vista, Westchester, Playa Vista and Del Rey. A person arrested near the beach, on Culver Boulevard, around the Ballona Wetlands or near the airport is likely to be taken to this station first.

The coast has its own rhythm. Weekend beach traffic, airport shuttles and the narrow bluff streets mean a minor mistake can turn into a stop. Pacific Division officers handle a wide area, and wait times at the station can be long on a busy night. Call before you drive over.

Where the person goes after the station

LAPD does not publish a table of which jail takes which area. In our records, Pacific Division arrests are usually booked at the downtown Metropolitan Detention Center, 180 N. Los Angeles St. That is an inference, and LAPD can move people between jails, so confirm by phone.

The 24 hour line at 213-473-6100 covers LAPD and county jails. You can also search the LASD Inmate Information Center at app5.lasd.org/iic.

The downtown jail takes bail at all hours. Visiting is limited, so most families do not see the person until after release. Our agent can often meet a client at times the family cannot. Bring a photo ID and park in a paid lot, since street parking downtown is hard to find.

The long trip from the coast to downtown

From Playa del Rey to downtown is about 18 to 20 miles. The usual route is Culver Boulevard to the 90 or the 405, then the 10 east, then into downtown. At night it takes about 35 minutes. At rush hour it can take well over an hour. Metro buses and the Metro K and E Lines connect parts of the Westside to downtown, but they do not run all night.

If you do not want to drive that late, tell us. Our agent can meet you near the jail, and you can begin the application online.

Airport, beach and boulevard arrests

Playa del Rey has beach parking lots, a quiet main street, apartment buildings on the bluff and the busy approach to LAX. Calls to us often come after DUI stops on Culver or Pershing, beach parties after dark and disputes in apartment buildings. A traveler who is arrested on the way to a flight may live far away, so the family may be in another state.

If that is you, we can work with a co-signer in another city. Most steps are handled by phone and online.

Beach and wetlands areas can also involve park staff or other agencies. If the arrest was just across the line in Marina del Rey or Culver City, a different department would hold the person and the steps would change. Tell us the street where it happened and we will help you sort it out.

The Airport Courthouse

In our data, the usual court for this area is the Airport Courthouse, 11701 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045. Cases that begin with a downtown booking may start with an arraignment downtown, so check your paperwork. Felony cases can move to other courthouses later.

The date is on your bail receipt. Never skip it. Read our guide on what to do after an arrest.

If you cannot get to court in person, call the clerk before the date. Courts do not like surprises. Bring a photo ID, and dress neatly. For free help with court forms, our resources page at /resources/ lists where to ask.

Cost and 1% down

The premium follows our filed rate of 10% of the bail, and 8% with a retained private attorney or a veteran defendant or co-signer. With Bail Today, Pay Later, the bond can begin with 1% down on approved credit, then monthly payments.

On a $30,000 bail, the 10% premium is $3,000, and the down payment is $300 on approved credit. The calculator works out your number. You can start at the online application, which takes about 4 minutes and asks for no SSN online.

Neighbors in Westchester and Playa Vista use the same Pacific station.

Underwriting may ask for a co-signer and proof of income. A co-signer can be a parent, spouse or other adult who can show steady work. We go over every number before you sign.

1% down is a down payment on approved credit, not the price of the bond. The premium is the rate on file with the California Department of Insurance, 10% of the bail amount, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or you or the defendant is a veteran. The balance goes on a payment plan.
