Los Feliz Bail Bonds

When a family member is arrested in Los Feliz, the first call you make matters. Jane Un Bail Bonds is a licensed California bail agent, open all night, and you can reach us at (213) 725-2815.

Los Feliz stretches from the hills below Griffith Park down to Hillhurst and Vermont Avenues. It is a neighborhood of quiet streets, a lot of dog walkers, and busy corridors on weekends. Arrests here are handled by LAPD Hollywood Area, and this page covers what happens next.

Read it top to bottom or jump to the part you need.

Hollywood Area, the station and the front desk

Los Feliz is in LAPD's Hollywood Area. The station is at 1358 N. Wilcox Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028, and the front desk number is 213-972-2971. The desk can tell you if a person is at the station or has been moved, though staff are busy and may not share everything.

Most families get better information from the county locator at app5.lasd.org/iic, where you search by name and see the booking number, charge and bail. Our Hollywood station page lists more details.

Arrests around the park

Griffith Park is one of the biggest city parks in the country, and weekends bring hikers, tourists and visitors to the observatory and trails. People get cited or arrested for things that surprise them, like a late night in a closed area, a DUI after an event, or a dispute in a parking lot.

If a visitor from out of town was arrested, their family may not know anyone in Los Angeles. That is fine. We will handle the local pieces, including how to find the person, which jail, and what comes next.

A person arrested in the park may first be held at a station and then moved. Do not panic if the locator is blank for the first hour or two.

Getting from Los Feliz to the downtown jail

Booking for Hollywood Area arrests usually happens at the Metropolitan Detention Center, 180 N. Los Angeles St., though LAPD may send people elsewhere for medical clearance. Visit and bail details are on our MDC page.

By car, take the 101 south from Hollywood toward the Civic Center, about 15 minutes late at night and much longer in rush hour. The Metro B Line from Vermont and Sunset also reaches Union Station, a short walk from downtown. Our office at 900 Avila St Suite 101 is a short walk from the jails.

How the first hearing works

Cases that start with downtown bookings are commonly heard at the Central Arraignment Courthouse, 429 Bauchet St., or the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, 210 W. Temple St. Misdemeanors and felonies can end up in different departments.

At release you will get paperwork with the date and department. Read it twice. Our guide on how bail works in Los Angeles explains what bail does and does not guarantee.

Cost, down payment and the monthly plan

The premium is the filed rate, which is 10% of the bail, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or the defendant or co-signer is a veteran. We offer 1% down on approved credit, with the rest on a monthly plan through Bail Today, Pay Later.

On a $40,000 bail, 1% down is $400, and the full premium at 10% is $4,000. The remainder is spread over monthly payments. 1% down is the start of the plan, not the price. See the calculator to run your own numbers.

Apply any time on the online application. It takes about 4 minutes and no Social Security number is asked online.

If you cannot find your loved one

Try a different spelling, the last name only, or a nickname. If a person was transported to a hospital before booking, they will not show up until after. Call the Hollywood desk and ask whether the person is in the station or has been transferred.

Some people are released with a citation instead of a booking, which means no bail is needed. If the person is not in the system after a few hours, they may already be home, so check with them first if you can reach them.

Weekend arrests and the Monday wait

Many Los Feliz arrests happen on Friday and Saturday nights, after dinner, shows and parties. A person booked late on a Friday may not see a judge until Monday, so families sometimes face a long weekend of waiting.

A bond does not have to wait for the court. If bail is already set from the county schedule, we can work on it right away, and the person may be released once the jail processes the paperwork. If bail is not yet set, we can still help you plan.

Use the weekend to gather what the process needs. That means a co-signer, a pay stub, an ID, and the booking number. Having these ready helps approval move quickly.

If you want to see how the system treats people before a first hearing, read our guide on pre-arraignment release in Los Angeles.

1% down is a down payment on approved credit, not the price of the bond. The premium is the rate on file with the California Department of Insurance, 10% of the bail amount, or 8% when a private attorney is retained or you or the defendant is a veteran. The balance goes on a payment plan.

Questions people ask

Does Los Feliz have its own police station?

No. It is served by the Hollywood Area station on Wilcox Avenue.

What if the arrest happened inside Griffith Park?

Park arrests can involve different agencies. The booking record will show who arrested the person and where they are held.

Will bail be the same as in other parts of LA?

Bail comes from the county schedule for the charge or from a judge, not from the neighborhood. The same charge generally leads to the same starting number.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, on approved credit. We take a down payment and set a monthly plan for the balance.

Is my information private?

We keep your application information confidential and use it only to process the bond.
